Accelerated Care Plus (ACP)

ACP’s comprehensive programs assist Physical and Occupational Therapists to treat broader medical conditions by using state-of-the-art advanced therapy techniques. ACP’s treatment interventions allow therapists to use modalities that target certain conditions that may not respond to traditional techniques alone.

ACP’s equipment includes electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, shortwave diathermy, and infrared therapy. It is important to understand that ACP has been used in orthopedic clinics, outpatient clinics, and for professional athletes. ACP is also the preferred treatment of choice for Olympic and Collegiate teams. We look forward to using ACP on our resident’s as we guide them to recovery.

ACP Goals Include:

  • Improve outcomes and functional gains for a broader range of patients for more medically complex conditions.
  • Introduce new treatment options for residents who have reached a plateau in their progress or have not responded to traditional therapy techniques.
  • Manage pain, edema, and range of motion for earlier initiation of therapy and more intensive therapeutic interventions.
  • Learn new skill sets associated with progressive therapeutic and treatment interventions.

Speech Language Pathology

Speech Language Pathology

Our speech therapists provide a myriad of services including assessment, education, and treatment for language, voice, articulation, and fluency disorders. Our treatment programs are directed towards improving communication skills and safe swallowing. We assist in rehabilitating patients who struggle with comprehension, memory, processing, and expression abilities. We also instruct the patient or the caregiver in techniques ranging from head positioning to promoting safe swallowing at a slower rate for clearer speech. We also teach patients how to compensate if they cannot be rehabilitated to their prior level of performance.

Patients admitted to the facility that are receiving nutrition partially or exclusively via a gastrostomy tube are evaluated for their potential to return to solid foods.

Speech therapists work to restore the following abilities:

  • Speech and voice clarity
  • Comprehension and verbal expression
  • Chewing and swallowing ability
  • Cognitive language skills, including memory, problem-solving, and abstract reasoning
  • Patient and family/caregiver education and training for managing ongoing difficulties with communication, cognition, and swallowing
